Been Busy with Sick Baby
Haven’t posted much this week. I have had a sick baby. Mommy and Daddy finally took her to the doctor last night and she had a really bad ear infection. Never complained about the ear so that surprised all of us. She is on antibiotics and a decongestant. Hopefully, she will be better for the holidays.

So Upset
I tell you I am so upset. Went to let Mirabelle outside and down comes a car on Cobblestone. A dad driving with his two little ones in the front seat. Now mind you the little girl was sitting in the front seat without a seat belt, bad enough right? Wrong, the little boy (who couldn't have been older than 2) was standing, yes standing on the floorboard in front of his sister.
I tell you, these parents have no brains. It just takes one time of having to slam on your brakes and then those kids will be lucky if they don't get hurt. I will lay you a bet that some of these parents are the same ones that couldn't understand how a parent could accidentally forget about their child in the car. Well they probably never do because they are in the front seat with them. Okay, I had my say. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

We Are Getting There
Well today went wonderful. Donella went with CP and I to IHOP this morning for CP's second lesson on eating outside the highchair and on being patient. And she was absolutely wonderful for us. What a champ! She is learning very fast. Now if we can just get her to do it around other kiddo's. Anyhow, Donella and I are going to practice with her every Monday until Madison is out of school during the Christmas holidays. By then we are hoping CP has it down pat and won't be one ounce of a problem. I will keep everyone informed of her progress.

What A Wonderful Weekend
I sure have been blessed this weekend. Got a call from some friends out here in Savannah and they wanted Rick and I to meet them for dinner on Saturday night. Haven't spent any time with another friend couple in almost a year because we just have been busy with family, etc. It was so nice to go meet them at the Texas Roadhouse. We just took our time and visited and just talked about so many things. Usually Jackie and I got together with her granddaughter, Madison and CP and myself. Since her granddaughter moved back to California, it has freed them up to have some time again. We are suppose to try to get together next Saturday evening and play some games. I love playing games with friends.
After getting home from eating, Wendy said I could come over and she would help me with my snapfish photo album. What a sweetheart, after working all day at the show, I know she was tired, but she still gave the time out to help me. Plus not only did I get to spend some time with her but got to sneak some time in with Landen and Leighton. Landen and I played noggin on the computer for a while and it was so much fun having that time with him.
Today, I went to church with the family. What a wonderful message that our preacher gave. I signed up for a prayer time to pray for our president and all of his cabinets, to pray for our missionaries, to pray for Christians that our being treated unfairly in other countries, and to pray for my family and friends. So tonight at 9 pm I am retreating to a quiet place to do my weekly prayer that my church asked of me.
What a lovely surprise I got after church. Rick was tired and stayed home to rest and then watch football, so I was on my own and Craig wanted to go play golf, so Linda was on her own. Linda asked if I wanted to go eat lunch with her. My heart was filled with joy. Linda and I haven't had any one on one time in a very long, long, long time and I sure have missed it. I love this lady and she is my closest christian friend I have. What a joyous time I had. We went to Mimi's to eat and then off for a little shopping spree. Of course, I had to get home to do laundry so I couldn't play all day and I think Linda was a little exhausted herself since she has been sick and then worked at a show all day yesterday. But for that little time we had together, I was so thankful.

Wonderful Lunch
Well CP and I went to Olive Garden to work on her patience today. She sat in a toddler's chair for me for the first time. She was absolutely wonderful. Yes, I had to remind her several times to sit down but she did so without one little fuss. She finished her meal and then played with her toys while I finished my meal. I told her that I was so proud of her and so was Mommy and Daddy. She said, Mommy, Daddy proud of me. I said, Yes baby they are!
She scared me on the way to Olive Garden though. I was pulling out of Savannah and she yelled, STOP, I SAID STOP. NO STOP. I looked back and said, Baby what is wrong and then realized she was talking to the Wiggles on her DVD movie. I just started laughing.

Staying Young
I have come to realize how one can stay young after your kids are grown and that is by having a little one around in your life on a day to day basis. I enjoy doing this with my grandbabies but that is only when I see them, however when you have a little one every day it is just that much better.
I didn't realize this until CP came into my life and now is a little older and we get to enjoy so many things that are so much fun. For some reason we forget these little enjoyments after our kids grow up.
The little things you see through a child's eyes and they are:
Watercoloring
Finger Painting
Tea Parties and dressing up
Coloring
Doing Puzzles
Building things with blocks, etc.
Making things out of Playdough or clay
and especially playing in the bathtub after you have the paint all over you. LOL

Peaceful Day
Today, CP and I are going to take a rest from other kids playing with her stuff and give her a day off. Three days of it was just a little much for the little one. Monday it was Madison, Tuesday it was Cora and Wednesday it was Landen and Leighton. I think she was thinking, why do I always have to do the sharing! So today we are going to just play together and then go out to eat lunch.
Time outs just do not work with this child. I told her twice yesterday that she was going to get a time out, once when Linda was here and once after she left and both times CP said, okay, I will go do a time out. She climbed into the chair and then said, "I am doing a time out". Even though she had been bad, I had to turn my face, because I was laughing inside and didn't want her to see the smile on my face. It was just too funny.
After Landen and Leighton left yesterday she was ready for a nap. We got her stuff together and went into the bedroom, watched the Wonder Pets and played some tickle me. She turned to me and gave me the biggest kiss (I think it was to say, sorry Drue Drue that you had to get on to me) and then she just rolled over and fell asleep.
So today we are just going to take it easy.

Learning to Share

Well, CP was so looking forward to seeing Landen. She even asked if Ricky J. and Wendy were coming. However, we are going to have to work on sharing our toys. After the last two days, we are getting very upset when we have to share. After working with CP for a while, she got very back on track and started to share some, she even gave little Leighton some toys to play with. I think this may take us a few more times to get the hang of it again.
I did get some cute pics of her and Landen playing together and little Leighton having her lunch.
Plans for Today

Well, we have gotten ready to go to the gym and I put her in one of the outfits I bought her yesterday. Showed Tammy the clothes and she just loved them, and was telling me that David had a hard time getting the Minnie Mouse shirt off of her last night. I know they must have because she got it out of the bag the minute we got home and wore it to take her nap in and then wanted to wear it home. Hannah is so easy to please when it comes to clothes.
When we get back from the gym then Landen and Leighton are suppose to come over, so we will have to hurry back from the gym. I had planned on Hannah and me going out to lunch but that is okay we can always do that tomorrow, so it was no big deal to change our plans. Tammy and I talked about me taking her to eat more to teach her patience because when Hannah is through eating them she is ready to go and if your aren't done then you better hurry up. I know it will be easier to teach her this if it is just her and me going to eat. She is always so much better when it is just the two of us than having others join us. So now we have two assignments, learning patience after eating and potty training. Got my hands full for a few weeks.

Appreciation Dinner
Well tonight Savannah gave a dinner for all of the volunteers of Savannah. It was really nice and people won some great gift cards, except for Donella and me (LOL). They served Fried Chicken, Mash Potatoes and Gravy, corn, green beans, biscuits and cheesecake. Of course after the Fried Chicken and fixins, I couldn't eat any of the cheesecake, but others told me it was good.
Back From Mall
Well we are back and what a time we had. I went ahead and bought CP some winter clothes to keep here just in case she runs out. Couldn't resist. Penney's was having a 50% off sale. I also bought both her and Landen a sweatshirt each from Disney. It was 2 for, however they didn't have any small enough for little Leighton. I will have to get her something else.
It is time for nappy so off we go to sleep.

Off To The Mall
Well CP and I are headed off to the mall to meet some of her friends there. I know she will want to ride the carousel, never can get out of that one without a minimum of two rides. She loves to go shopping. I don't know if I am a bad influence or she is a bad influence on me. Maybe we both are a bad influence on each other when it comes to shopping.
Posing Question
Just a food for thought for me really. A mother always look at her children, no matter of their age, to be just that, children. Then one day it occurs to you, that your children have grown up to be adults. And on that day, you realize that you are getting advice from someone you use to give advice to. Oh the joy of being a mother. I love my children, or should I say, my adult children.

Monday

Well today CP and I joined Donella and Madison for a morning together. We started off by going to eat breakfast at Cracker Barrel then Madison and CP played for a while together until both were getting very tired. I asked CP if she was ready for nap time and she started walking towards the bedroom and said, "Bye bye Donnie". It was so cute and it only took 10 minutes before she was sound to sleep.
Here she is all dressed up and ready to go. When I snapped this, while we were waiting on Donnie and Maddie, she took tissue paper and was laying it down on the floor to make beds for all her dolls. It was so cute to watch.

Today at Church
Well, Lee Roy was baptized this morning at their family church in Colleyville. We sat close to were we could see really good and take pics, however it was so dark and I guess pretty far away, that even with my zoom lens, the pics didn't come out really good. With that being said, I am so glad that his Dad and I got to go see him get baptized in person. This is something I will remember all my life.
The preacher also preached a very good message today which was Peace for Troubled Hearts. It was a very good message and do wish I could go to listen to the follow-up sermons, but it is a little distant for church so I will just go to mine. I don't know why on Sundays I always seem to have a hard time getting up and getting ready, because once I go to church, I always come away with being overjoyed that I went.
I know the preacher was preaching on Peace with God and Peace of God, but I believe that sermons are meant for you to get your very own personal message out of them, and that is what happened to me today.
I came across with the sermon telling me that I need to cleanse my heart over all and any troubles that I have had with others and fill it with nothing but peace. So at that moment I started a new peace in my heart forgiving all that have hurt my heart in the past, asking for forgiveness of all that I have hurt their heart in the past, and moving on with tranquility in my heart. I have an inner peace and with this I have an inner calmness throughout my body and feel rejoice with the Lord.
I want my grandchildren to grow up knowing their grandmother has a sweet old loving lady and not one with lines on my face because of the bitterness I let grow in my heart.
I am thankful that Lee Roy and Valerie invited us today because I believe I was meant to be there, not only seeing Lee Roy get baptized but also to hear this blessed sermon from their preacher. Thank you Lord Jesus for moving me in the right direction and opening up my heart to hear your words. In Jesus name, Amen.

Last Night
Ricky and Wendy brought the little ones over before CP went home and Landen and CP got to play for a little bit.
Then big Rick and Ricky went to Popeyes and picked us up some chicken so we could visit for a while. I sat at the little table with Landen and he and I got to eat together. They have their weekend full so it was the only time we would have a chance to be with Landen and Leighton.
I bet you that by next month Leighton is going to be a full fledge walker. Since I will be watching both of them on December 6th I bet she is going to be getting around like there is no tomorrow.
December 6th is our Christmas time here in Savannah so if the weather is not too cold I think I might take them up to the clubhouse to see Santa. We will have to see what the weather is like.

TGIF
Well, today is Friday and the weekend is coming. Got lots to do over the weekend. Since Rick and I are trying to save our money not knowing how things will pan out economically for us, I no longer have a yard man and am trying to do it myself. So I will have to work into my heavy weekend schedule a time to work in my yard.
The Christmas lights guy called and I told him we won't be putting up the lights this year. Trying to save that money along with the electricity that it uses.
However, I am glad to see that gas prices are going down so much, now it doesn't costs us between $200 to $250/week on gas anymore. Rick's and my fill-ups went down from $80/85 to now $45/50. That is a huge savings over a weeks time since he fills up twice and I fill up once a week. We are really working hard to save money because we know I will need a new car soon and he may also.
We now only go out to eat 1 or 2 times a week and then at home the rest of the time. Saves us some dollars. Just trying to save were we can, but still have some fun and live day to day.
CP is sleeping like a little princess and waiting for her to wake up so we can play some more before she goes home for the weekend.

It is True
Answer to Linda's comment. It is so true Linda. I grew up being raised as a Baptist but also had a wonderful Grandmother that I would spend lots of time with reading the Bible. She was Penacostal and some of her beliefs were different than Baptists but that was okay, it gave me a better understanding that it didn't matter what title you put on your religion, just so long has you believed in God and that Jesus gave his life to save us.
I am so proud and admire Ricky J. because he has grown into such a "superman" in my eyes. He sometimes has a better knowledge of being forgiving than I do. I am also so proud that he understands the importance of raising his little ones in church. Never could get him to go when he was young, but that didn't matter because I believe he knew about God and he always tried to be understanding of his fellow humans. He married a wonderful young christian lady, your daughter, Wendy. She has been a blessing to our family and I am so glad she entered our sons life and married him. They go together so well and no one could have been a better match for our son. We love her so very much.
I miss our talks and someday I hope we can both make the time to get together and start doing it again.

From My Heart
Today my posting is going to be a little different. I am going to speak from the heart. This Sunday my youngest son, Lee Roy, is being Baptized. All I want for him is to live his life like a true Christian should. Even though I am a Christian and in my 54 years of life, I have tried to live like one, and yes I have had my downfalls like any of us do, I know in the end who I can rely on when times are hard and who I should thank when times are good, and that is Jesus Christ, my savior.
However, through my life I have met these so called, Christian fanatics that have preached to me about how great a Christian they are and then use me and my love ones for their own benefit. We have even gone as far as helping some out that lost their jobs and we to file bankruptcy because we were feeding them, etc. when they had more money than us in their bank account. How did we find that out, by them going out and buying new furniture, etc. after we helped them. We have also had other so called Christians, lie to us about others and even steal from us. For some reason, every Christian we knew thought that the world owed them and others should give them what they didn’t have. I had a very bad taste in my mouth for many years of not wanting to be around people that were so “out there” with their religion that I didn’t want to go to Church to be around them.
What changed? Knowing someone that is a true Christian friend and brought me back from being lost (by this I don’t mean lost from Jesus, but lost from trusting my fellow Christians). This person is one of the sweetest people I know. I got to really know her when Landen was a newborn baby, and I would go over to Ricky J. and Wendy’s house to see him and she and I would talk about Jesus and our beliefs, etc. That person is Wendy’s Mom, Linda. She didn’t try to preach to me about her religion, but spoke to me about mine. I started to realize how much I missed having other Christians in my life to talk to and that it was okay for me to talk about my beliefs and Jesus with other true Christians. What do I mean about a “true” Christian? One that doesn’t think you owe them something because they are a Christian. One that knows you are human and make mistakes in your day to day life and accepts you for being human. One that doesn’t tell lies about other people to you. Linda I love you and you are a true loving friend. Thank you for being there for me when I was lost.
Lee Roy – for you my son, I want you to know that being “saved” is not like joining a cult or anything. There is nothing magical that will assure us of our salvation. God will judge us when we die based on our entire lives. We are saved by the grace of God alone and if we accept His grace, then we will have faith in Him. Live your life with love and be honest and fair to all others. I am very proud of you and love you with all my heart.

Caught Up
Now I am caught up to the current moment of time. Today since CP's little Thursday playdate left to go back home to California, I decided to make it a special day. However CP had other plans.
When her Mom brought her this morning she told me that CP was already telling her about our day and what we were going to do. She wanted to go SHOPPING! So young and already a shopper.
So we got ready and left and I was headed to the mall but decided to make a quick stop at Toys R Us to get her something special for today. Big mistake!
After we shopped then we rode the Elmo and Bert and Ernie rides in the front of the store. Off we were and CP decided on waffles. So we made a stop at Le Peep's for her waffle before we headed on home.
She was so cute playing with her Ice Cream Cones, Cookware and McDonalds food. She is just going to make somebody a good little homemaker. Of course that is years and years down the road.

Birthday Bash
The next day was November 1st and all the family came over to celebrate my birthday with me and big Rick.

My sis, Donella and her youngest son, Clyde and his wife Wendy came with their little daughter Madison. Rick’s sister Becky also came and it was sure nice to see her since we only get to see her on special events.

My oldest son, Rick and his family, Wendy, Landen and Leighton came early which gave me some wonderful time with my grandbabies before everyone else came.

We had a wonderful time watching Landen play with our pup, Mirabelle Coco, which he said is his friend. She was so worn out, never saw her so tired out. They also stayed after everyone left to give me a little more one on one time with the little ones. They sure have blessed me!
My youngest son, Lee Roy and his wife Valerie came after having given up going to a football game. I know it must have been a hard decision for him,
but it sure did mean a lot to me because it had been so long since we got to see him.
but it sure did mean a lot to me because it had been so long since we got to see him.

Then 10/31/08 came and it was my birthday and Halloween. Rick and I went to the doctor early that morning and it made my day because all my blood work came out very good and he took me off of my cholesterol pills saying I didn’t need them anymore. I was singing and dancing all morning. Think I was getting on Rick’s nerves because his results weren’t as good as mine. Sorry love. I guess it pays to like to eat fish.
We then spent the rest of the day cleaning because I was getting ready for all the family to come the next day to celebrate my birthday with me. We were suppose to go out to eat at 4:30 pm that afternoon, but after the doc's we went to IHOP for breakfast (we were starving because we had to fast for our blood work) and I guess we just weren't hungry enough to spend the money. However, I had a wonderful time passing out candy to the little ones that came to see us that evening. Afterwards, Rick and Wendy brought over Landen and Leighton and we got to take them to some of our friends doors to do a little trick or treating over here. They were so cute! However, I could shoot myself because I didn't get any pics. I am sure their Mom did.
I do have a couple that CP's Mom took to share with you.
CP and I went to the Pumpkin Patch in Celina with her friend Madison. Madison was going back home to California the day after Halloween, so that was the last chance that CP and I had a day to do anything with her. Hope she enjoys California again; however she sure will be missed, CP and her played almost every Thursday together and they became so close.
The Pumpkin Patch in Celina had so many animals for the little ones to pet and feed. It was a little windy but we still had a great time until they unloaded buses full of school kids. They told us they were expecting 800 kids. CP and Madison were getting lost in the crowd so we left and went to Le Peep’s for a mid-breakfast. CP again slept for 4 hours once we got home.

Even little Leighton got to come and spend some time with Granddaddy and Nana and she was so good. I am glad I kept the baby toys that CP had so that way, Leighton had something to play with. She is just growing up so fast and becoming her own person. She and Landen favor so much you can sure tell they are related. She is just so precious.

Then we followed up with taking Landen to the Fallfest here in Savannah. He was okay until the loud music started and then he wanted to go back to Nana and Granddaddy’s house to play. That was okay with us. We just wanted to make him happy. Isn’t that what being a grandparent is all about anyway? The next morning we met his Mommy and Daddy for breakfast. He is getting to be such a big boy. Granddaddy and I just love it when he comes to spend the night. We always have such great time and lots of fun with our little man.
Moments to Remember

Last month was such a wonderful month with all the little ones in my life and since I hadn’t started a blog yet I decided I wanted to write about it so I can look back at it and remember all the fun moments.
It started out with CP and I joining two of her little friends (Abby and Cora) and we went to the Arboretum in Dallas. We had such a wonderful time and they did also. It is amazing at my age what you see all over new again through a little ones eyes. She is such a Cutie Pie!

Change of Plans
Well we didn't get to go see Landen or Leighton today because Mimi wasn't feeling well. We home that Mimi gets to feeling better, since we know how hard it is to look after the little ones when you are under the weather. However, CP and I didn't let that dampen our plans for the day and we went ahead and went to the gym and then CP decided she wanted Blueberry Pancakes so we headed off to IHOP. She was such a good girl and I was just so proud of her. She ate like a big girl using that big fork to eat her pancakes and ham. She sure did put on a show for the gentleman sitting across the isle to us. It is so funny how people can't believe the things she says for her age and size. Then we came home and played in the bed together until she fell off to sleep. She is growing up so very fast.
Busy Day
Well, little bit and I have a busy day today. We head off to the gym this morning and then off to play with Landen afterwards. They are so cute together. Plus it gives me a chance to sneak in some time with Leighton. I love playing with the little ones.

Tonight's Outcome
I am so glad I will be in a meeting most of the evening. That way I won't be pacing back and forth on the floor waiting to see who is our new president. I will just be praying all evening that God takes care of us and the outcome is what we has a "Nation under God" need to keep us has a "Nation under God".
First Post
Here I am sitting down while the little one is asleep and creating my blog. I may be too old to do this but it is the in thing and I thought I would give it a try.
