What A Wonderful Day!

What a wonderful day we had spending time with Linda and Craig along with their family and friends for their Anniversary Celebration. Linda and Craig are two of the sweetest people I know and I am so blessed to have them be a part of our famiy. Rick and I enjoyed meeting their friends who are also very sweet people. They are blessed to have such good friends.

It is so nice that there is no Munroe/Russell separations but more of a Munrus or Rusmun and that we are more like one big family rather than 2 small families.

Have a wonderful rest of your Anniversary and enjoy your stay at the hotel when you go. Let us know when so we can surprise you! Just kidding. Love to you both, Drue and Rick

Sunday

Visited a new church this Sunday that is closer to home. In fact right across from our community on 380. Small church with maybe 20 people there this Sunday but I must say that you don't have to go to a big fancy church that you feel like a number and no one really knows your name to feel the Lord working. The music was wonderful and they sang probably 7 or 8 songs, then they had everyone stop to get a drink and just mingle and then it was on with the service. A little long because of all this, we didn't get out until 12:45 but I had a wonderful time and enjoyed the fellowship and that is what it is all about.

Next Sunday we are visiting a church behind Loew's off of 423.

Ready For Winter

I know you are going to think I am dumb saying this but I am looking forward to winter when I can rest some. It seems like this summer I am so busy that I am not able to enjoy the sun rise and set.

This month in June not one weekend is free. And in July, three of my weekends are already booked, of course of love doing things but this is a little tiring for someone my age. Yes at first I complained because every weekend I stayed at home waiting for the kids to call to invite us somewhere and then I decided not anymore, too depressing. But boy oh boy, I went a little overboard with it, hee, hee. I am so involved in other things that my poor kids have to book me months in advance. At least I get to see my grandbabies a couple of times this month. Love you kiddos.

Our First Day of Swimming

Well we just got back at a little after 1 today. She wouldn't leave me alone about going because she was just too, too excited, so we left at 9:30 this morning and I just took a long way around to get there to waste some time. We were the first ones there and was at the gate at 5 minutes till. We got the table by the sandbox so I could watch her play and we took all her sand toys with us.

The water was oh so cold. I mean oh so cold but Cutie Pie would not be stopped. She plunged right in so I had to follow with freezing water and all. Then it warmed up once I got all the way wet so she had the right idea and to just plunge in. We swam until a little after 11 am and then I noticed her lips were turning purple. So I grabbed her up and said that is enough young lady, your lips are purple meaning you are cold. She cried a little, nothing bad and then we had a snack and I let her play in the sandbox the rest of the time. Took her to the showers and cleaned her up and then we went to the restroom to get dressed. She wanted Sonic afterwards so that is were we went and she had her Hot Dog and Chocolate Shake. She ate all the hot dog but you know how she is on the shake. Most is still left.

She said she had so much fun that she needed to tell Mommy all about it. LOL

I told her if she didn't get upset when we were leaving we would come back tomorrow so she was a perfect angel when we got ready to leave. I think I am more tired than she is.

Now don't get me wrong she was a lot of fun last year but this year doesn't even compare. She is so wonderful to take to the pool and we played and played and played in the water. I had such a blast with her.

Weekend of Fun

Well Friday since I got off early I was able to go eat lunch with two girlfriends and enjoy some Adult conversation for a change. Then that evening we went and watch Landen and Leighton and came to realize that no matter how much we love watching them, we just can't do it on Friday night anymore. Rick had to work the next day and only managed getting 3 1/2 hours sleep, which in my world for his age and his sleeping problem, can be a dangerous event if he happens to fall asleep on the way home from work.

Saturday I woke up with a headache (guess to the storm that was coming) so I rested most of the day and then Rick and I went to eat dinner at my favorite Irish pub in Frisco, Irish Rover, and they had a band playing, which was an A+ so hubby and I were in our 20's again enjoying something we haven't done in such a very, very long, long time.

Sunday I got up and cleaned house and then we met Becky and Mike for dinner to celebrate her birthday that we didn't get to celebrate earlier. We went to Ralph's Seafood on 75 and enjoyed an evening of Adult conversation and just had a good visit and good food.

Monday we were invited over to Ricky J's and Wendy's for a meal from what I was told and once we got there realized it was a swimming party also. So we had to come back home to get our bathing suits so we could join everyone. No pics included since we had to leave. LOL We didn't have any plans for Monday until we got that sweet call from our son, Ricky J. inviting us over, otherwise we were just planning on spending a quiet resting day. Linda and Craig were there also and we got to plan with Landen in the pool. He was very entertaining with his little skits of Animals that he was putting on for me and Mimi. He was very happy to be the center of attention with his Mimi and Nana, I am sure.

Well that is about it and if I get a chance I will post what we are doing every weekend. So far we are pretty booked all the way through July.

Holiday Weekend Starting Early

Well, bless Tammy and David. I didn't know but they are picking up cutie pie between 10:30 and 11:00 this morning so my holiday will be starting off earlier than expected. This is great because I didn't know how I was going to get everything that I need to do done.

Today I have to run to Wal-Mart to pick up the Tea for the party tomorrow. Then at 2 pm. I was invited to have lunch with some girl friends and didn't know I would be able to go until last night. Then Rick and I get the pleasure of taking care of Landen and Leighton this evening after Rick gets home and gets cleaned up and we grab a bite to eat.

Tomorrow I will probably sleep in since it will be late tonight before we get home. Then have a party starting at 3 pm until 5 pm for Savannah to kick off the opening of the pool.

Sunday suppose to take Becky out for her birthday. Couldn't do it on her birthday so we had to move it to this weekend.

Then Monday it will be time to clean house, etc. No time to rest for the busy life. LOL

Well today Linda brought Landen and Leighton over to play with Hannah. I believe the kiddos had a wonderful and fun time playing together. They seem to get along really well. Hope to get together sooner than what we have been doing. It is nice to see Landen and Leighton during the week. They just grow and grow. Thanks Linda for coming over, GREAT IDEA!

So So Busy

Sometime ago, I decided not to sit around and wait for the phone to ring to see what was planned for the weekend. So now we have family and friends we are constantly doing things with. What an uplifting way to live your life. However, now it seems we get booked out months ahead of time and we are constantly busy when the weekend gets here. So since Rick and I have had no time for ourselves or any sort of vacation, etc. we have decided to hit the road for a mini trip in June. We are just going to jump in the car and see where the road takes us. I can't wait.

What A Wonderful Day!

What a wonderful day we had on Mother's Day. Spent from 11 am to 2 pm with our grandbabies and then came home to relax before doing the weekend chores.

Rick and Wendy fixed Tacos while I got to color with Landen. The grandbabies were in a wonderful mood and all was fabulous. Even little Leighton was feeling better and all spruced up for the occassion.

Wendy and I agree that it was much better eating in than going out and fighting a big crowd. Thanks kiddos for a memorial Mother's Day. Hugs and kisses from us to you.

My Prayer of the Day

Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I call unto Thee, when my heart fainteth; lead me to a rock that is too high for me.For Thou hast been a refuge for me, a tower of strength in the face of the enemy.I will dwell in Thy Tent for ever; I will take refuge in the covert of Thy wings. - Psalms 61: 2-5

We Did It!

Today was our first day out in our big girl undies. We went to the new IHOP and had breakfast, and used the big girl pottie, then we went to Toys R Us and stopped looking around to go to the big girl pottie. After our nap we got all dressed up and went over to Jo Jo's to have a tea party and she went over there. Didn't wear any pull-ups all day and didn't have any accidents. Little bit is trained and oh so proud of herself. We had to call Mommy to tell her what a big girl she was.

However, all morning she missed her Mommy. She kept saying Mommy, Mommy, Mommy. I miss my Mommy. My heart was breaking for her. I know she wanted to see her Mommy so bad and there was nothing I could do to help her out. Then Mommy came and got her and she was so happy. You should have seen the look on her face. It lit up and had the biggest smile. It made me wept. I wish all Mommies could just leave work when their little ones want them so.

Tammy said it was because little bit slept in this morning and didn't have her Mommy play time. I hope she gets that time from now one because she sure misses it when she doesn't.

Growing Up

Boo Hoo, little Ms. Hannah is growing up.

I was in the kitchen and looked around and didn't see little bit. Went to find her and she had taken herself to our bathroom and sat on her potty and was taking the container to the big potty to pour it in and flush it.

I couldn't believe my eyes that she was doing it all by herself. Pretty soon she won't need me anymore.

Our Zoo Visit

Here are some pics from our day at the zoo.
I just had a blast going to the zoo with Hannah and my grandbabies, Landen and Leighton. I was just so appreciative to get to see their litle faces while they looked at all the animals and such. Wendy was the one behind the camera on most of the pics so poor thing didn't get many pictures of her because she was really sweet to take a lot of Hannah and me. Thanks Wendy.

Playing with Friends

We had a wonderful day with our little friends today. Here we are playing dress-up and putting on make-up.

Here I am with some white eyeshadow on my lips.

Well, then I got tired from all the work of looking pretty.

Decided I needed to drive their motorcycle around.

Had to dress-up to go to the mall this evening with Mommy, Daddy and Gammy to see the Easter bunny. Hope they get her to sit and get pictures. Got this cute dress at Sears last week when they were having a 50% off sale on some clothes. I just think it is adorable. I love to buy clothes for her and dress her up. Told Rick, now I know what all the Mom's talk about with they have little girls. I think he feels the same. He is just so crazy about this little one. Still love my boys though.
