Peed in Potty

Well we tried on day long and 30 mins. ago we did it for the first time. She wore big girl panties all day and held it until I put on some pull-ups to go somewhere. It didn't work this time because we weren't leaving. Big girl. Hurray!

This Week

Well up to now it has been a very enjoyable week of playing outside. However, we can use the rain so I won't say too much about that. Can't wait for Saturday so we can play with Landen just hope it is pretty.

Keeping Blood Pressure Up

It is pretty bad when you have to smoke to keep your blood pressure up. At 10:30 am today I was feeling a little light headed and took it and it was 116/65. Wonder what it would have been without smoking. Well 10 more pounds to go and I can quit taking the pills. Doctor was very pleased with Rick's and my weight loss. Told me that I was on a fabulous healthy diet that most diabetics should be on. So to keep up the good work.

Week of News

Well, can't seem to get my blood pressure stable and Rick's is way too high so we both have a doctors appointment Friday morning. Got to get blood work done otherwise we can't get any more meds. Oh well, didn't want to spend the money right now but have no choice. There goes a couple hundred dollars. Wish Rick's work had the co-pay insurance like they use to rather than the 80/20.

Can't wait for Landen's party Saturday. I am sooooo excited. Love you little boy.

Breathing Better

Well at least their was a meeting at Rick's work yesterday and they told them for the time being there will be no more layoffs for a while. That is good news and at least we can breathe a little easier. Now we just have to wait until we see what comes of the 3-year contract that they are working on. With the economy the way it is and even if it got better next year this contract will have an effect on our lives for the next 3 years. Positive thinking, positive thinking!

Economy Hitting Home

Well, it was just a matter of time before it came our way. Rick's work asked people to take a volunteer 90 day lay-off or just work 4 days a week (we can't afford either one) and to his and my surprise over 100 people took it. Now this week started the lay-offs and we pray it does come our direction again. Been through one layoff already. Rick said that they are having a big meeting on Thursday and not to be surprised it they take away some of what people are making per hour.

Anyway, hopefully we are ready for whatever is about to come our way and God will take care of us. We have been through hard times before were we have lived on beans and cornbread for weeks on end amoung other things.

We didn't do anything special for Valentine's since we already knew we were tightening our belts and didn't want to spend the money on something we really didn't need to so we just hung out with another couple and visited and had a nice time. Then we came home and laid in bed and watched some TV together. It was nice to have the peace and quiet and for us to just enjoy each other.

Oh well, we are still on our diet and I am down by 16 pounds now. Going to have to go back to the doctor and get my blood pressure medicine adjusted because it is too low I think. I have been getting dizzy and light headed and took it this morning and it was 88/74 without any meds so I didn't take any for now. I will keep a look at it until I can go back to the docs.

Don't plan on doing much this weekend but taking it easy. Love to all.

First Goal Reaches

Well this morning I weighed and my first goal has been reached - under 200 lbs. Now it seems well worth all this extra work on the weekends. Next goal 175 then 150 and I will see what I look like then.

New Post

Okay, I know I haven't posted in a while, I have just been super super busy. Since starting my new diet all I do is clean house on Saturday's and go grocery shopping and cook on Sunday's. Haven't had a restful weekend in 3 weeks but hopefully all of this will be well worth it once I lose my 50 pounds. I have lost 12 so far which the doctor only wanted me to lose a pound a week and I have lost more than that, about an average of 4 lbs a week. The first 2 weeks I had trouble following it because I had to get use to eating 5 to 6/times a day rather than 1 to 2 times so that took be a while to build up to it. I will say you never go hungry on this diet but you do find that every 3 hours you are ready to eat again. I guess because you eat so much less like 2 ounces of protein a meal, which doesn't sound like much but it is.

Trying to find a Teddy Bear

Well, today Mirabelle got a hold of little CP's Teddy Bear and chewed a hole in the ear. She started crying and saying new Teddy, new Teddy. So Tammy told me she got them on Ebay but that was back in 2005. Of course, they don't make that Teddy Bear anymore. So I had to bid on one and won, so hopefully she will like it. Oh brother what a morning.

Art Work

Had to make a special place to show off the Art Work that our little guy, Landen, makes for us. You can tell that he enjoys doing it as much as we enjoy getting it. Just seeing the look of joy on his face when we open these special little gifts up and we can't imagine wanting anything more.

Playing Dress Up

CP hasn't wanted to leave the house all week so yesterday we played dress up and here are some pics of her.

A Big Thanks To Wendy

Wendy showed me how to download pics from different places to put on my memory card so I could print pictures on my PictureMate Photo printer so this past Sunday I had a blast getting pictures and printing them and then putting them in my new frames. I am running out of wall space for all these wonderful pictures but I just can't get rid of any of them, I love looking at all of them every day.

THANKS WENDY!

Rick Back To Work

Well Rick got up this morning and headed back to work after his long vacation so CP and I are on our own and will be getting back to our normal schedule. My, how little ones grow up so very fast. It just seems like yesterday when our special little Landen was born and then like yesterday when I started keeping this wonderful 3 month old baby and then IT SURE doesn't seem like almost a year since our beautiful baby granddaughter, Leighton was born. Time just goes too too swift in our lives and it needs to slow down some.

Rick and Wendy took us to this marvelous Hamburger place Saturday and it was just too good to mention. I could only eat a half of one they are so big and the bun it very tasty.

Now I think I have caught up with most of the events that have happened since last year so WELCOME 2009.

New Years

I guess after you get so old bringing in the New Year at 12:01 just isn't the same anymore. I think Rick and I both were asleep well before the New Year came in. Another year is just another year so you get our age and it is like why rush it. Rick watched games all day and I spent the day with my friend Sheila.

Grandchildren

Well the Saturday after Christmas we had a great time taking care of the little ones while Mommy and Daddy went through their old stuff to get rid of some of it for a place to put their new stuff. Landen and Leighton were wonderful and even though I wasn't feeling 100% we had a wonderful time with them and then we all went out to eat at Chili's afterwards because we all were starving. Ricky J. and Wendy had worked up an appetite and so had we all so it was off to eat.

Our Christmas Celebration with Cutie Pie

Well it was time for me to go back to work and Rick was still off so we decided to do our Christmas present celebration with CP on that Monday. It was so much fun being with her and watching her face and hearing the cutest expressions while she opened her gifts.

Catching Up

Well, I am a little behind on my blogging. Have been pretty busy. Christmas was wonderful. We spent Christmas Eve at home just the 3 of us, Rick, Donella and myself. However, I went with Donella to Clyde and Wendy's church for their Christmas Eve service and I was so glad I did. It was a very special service to me and it was so close since their church is at the Savannah Elementary school.

Christmas Day we spent with the Russell's and Munroe's. We had brunch with Landen, Leighton, Ricky J. and Wendy. You can see the pics on Wendy's blog. Can't believe I forgot my camera but with all the gifts to put in the car, it just slipped my mind. It was so much fun watching the little ones open their gifts. I think besides Christmas being Jesus' birthday it is also about the little ones.

After we were through and watched the kids play for a while we came home so they could get some rest and I had to cook the dressing and green bean casserole for later that evening. Then that evening we went and spent it with Linda, Craig and all the Russell Frisco family which we have never done because usually Linda and Craig are in Oklahoma. It was so nice that Linda and Craig opened up their home to all of us. (Also see the pics on Wendy's blog). We had a wonderful time and then we came home for a much needed rest.

Missed seeing my youngest one and his family this year but never heard from them about the plans but I am sure they had a wonderful Christmas with Valerie's family.

Almost Ready

Well I must say this is the first Christmas where I am done with shopping early. Been slim pickins this year due to the money situation but will make sure the little ones have a Christmas. We didn't even do any decorating this year except for a tree. Rick and I decided to not buy each other anything this year because we get what we need during the year if we need it and Santa can't afford me a new car yet so I will just wait. LOL I am going to try to go to the Christmas Eve service at church this year, never been and always wanted to go. Shall see.

Well last day to have little bit until the 29th, sure will miss her. She is growing and growing by the day and I know she will have changed so much when I see her again. Little ones grow up way too fast. She is getting at that helpful age where she wants to help me in the kitchen. She helped me fix tea yesterday and she told Mr. Rick when he got home that she made it and he had to be patient until it was done (not realizing of course it had been ready for some time). Can't wait until she and I bake cookies together, etc. Sure do love her.
